Hey; happy new year!
Ready for a fresh start, with the clean new page on the calendar? Me too.
And I’m mindful this year, in a different way, about what applying what I’ve learned (and am still learning) so far.
The biggest lesson I learned in 2022? Hmmm; that’s a tough call.
2022 was, in today’s parlance, a growth year for me, in every way. Looking back at the year, though (as I do every December/January), I’d sum it up with this key takeaway: Saying “yes” to something requires saying “no” to something else.
And also: Doing what you must do takes priority over doing what you want to do.
The big thing I wanted to do, in 2022, was to begin teaching what I’ve learned, in order to keep learning. Examples: How to Monday. How to write a creative brief. How to write a simple note. How to make chocolate-dipped sugar cookie hearts.
But then, in Feburary/March, a long-tenured colleague at Kindred Place was successfully recruited by another local organization, and we spent the remainder of the year adjusting. Between that, and some unanticipated challenges in a board service commitment, I had less discretionary time than I wanted, and I had to pick and choose among competing personal goals.
How did I stay on track otherwise? I used systems I’ve developed over a long period of time to make progress toward goals that are important to me. Those systems, and that process, are the content for the course I’ve spent the last two and a half months building (while learning a new platform – Kajabi – to build it in).
The course is called “Your First 100 Days,” and it includes a 60+ page workbook that I’m going to give away for free in January, while I put the finishing touches on the course (meaning: I have to record and upload the video modules I’ve scripted…).
NOTE: The download is for the workbook only. There are references in the workbook to the video modules and other resources that are only in the online course, and there are no instructions in the book.
For you early bird readers, the workbook is available right here, in the post. Once I’ve tested and re-tested the sign-up process, the workbook will still be free (for January) but through a sign-up page, here.
My fresh start for 2023? I’m going to pick up where I left off, on projects (like the course website) that were important to me in 2022 and still important in 2023. And I’m not one bit sorry that I spent the past three weeks with my children (home from college), my sister and her family (here for Christmas), and a few friends. Not. One. Bit. Sorry.
I plan to try & make sense of it all starting my 88th 100 days. New year wishes to you & yours.
