Just because

This hollowed out trunk is a bridge over a 4 foot rain gulley, leading from one side of the yard to another at my friend Kitty’s house on Greer’s Ferry Lake. In terms of utility, this little path is completely unnecessary: the ravine is shallow and not very wide, and there’s another, more traditional bridge next to the tree. Completely unnecessary, utterly beautiful and deeply inviting. A journey worth the short trip and long reflection.
